I’m an avid tennis player, and when I turned 60, I started to feel that my game had plateaued. Having had plenty of tennis lessons, it was suggested that strength training concentrating on my core and balance could be what was missing in my game. I started working with Shelly in August of 2019, two days a week. I noticed small improvements in my game within the first 30 days! Having worked with a personal trainer years ago, I thought of training as a necessary evil, that all changed working with Shelly. I enjoyed the different exercise routines Shelly introduced to me and learned how to workout the right way; it wasn’t all about just lifting weights. I’ve learned exercises that help my balance, strengthen my core, all while building muscle, which is awesome at my age. After a couple of months, we started setting small goals for weight loss, and within a year, I’ve lost 30lbs! I’m playing tennis at a much higher level now, my energy level is incredible, and I’m in the best shape of my life!

Shelly is patient, positive and most of all a powerhouse! You find yourself coming back because of her kind and warm demeanor but then one day you realize that she has been pushing and challenging you and your fitness goals are being met! The 2-3 times a week that I spent with Shelly have helped me physically and mentally be stronger, focused and better prepared to handle whatever life has in store for me!
Amy will be greatly missed, but we will keep her mat hung in the studio, in -hopes that she will return occasionally.
